REMEMBER, REMEMBER, THE FIFTH OF NOVEMBER, THE GUNPOWDER TREASON AND PLOT. I KNOW OF NO REASON WHY GUNPOWDER TREASON SHOULD EVER BE FORGOT.

Hey guys! this is a review of a film I saw recently with my English/civics&careers class. This film focuses on a young girl named Evey, who was one night saved by a masked figure called V, who was revealed to be a terrorist, focused on bringing down the government and establishing a state of anarchy for England.

although he is a terrorist, one can't help but root for him as his cultural references go from Shakespeare to Tolling Stones to Enid Bylton. He's not necessarily the good guy in this film but his enemies are no better. Hugo Weaving plays as V in the film, and I don't think anyone could have done a better job than that. Although his face was hidden beneath a smirking Guy Fawkes mask the entire time, his voice gave off a touch of humanity to his character, playing his role to perfection. He did a beyond amazing job at this, there was a scene where you could almost HEAR him blushing behind the mask.

I absolutely LOVED this film, not because I agree with everything it has to prove, because I don't, and not because it was in England, which is one of my favorite countries. But because it was so balanced and had a little but strong ideas of everything, from mystery to crime to horror to romance and even drama, all put together in a weird but interesting way to watch. I would and might just watch the film again and again someday when I have the time, and I am pretty sure it is one of my favorites now.

This film was adapted from an incredible graphic novel that was even more cinematic than the film itself. It would be interesting to watch an even closer film adaption of the book, but nothing will ever live up to how much I liked this version of the book.

The whole movie was amazing and I could not choose a favorite part but there was one scene that stood out to me which was the scene that blew my mind!

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both
victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of
vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this
valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to
vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van guarding vice and vouchsafing the
violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is
vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity
of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this
vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my
very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

........ I know!!! amazing isn't it? if you have seen the movie too than you probably, most likely remember the scene when V and Evey met and he said this extremely long speech with words starting with the letter V. I have seen many of these in different movies and book but none like this! this is by far my favorite. I still do not understand how Hugo could memorize this amazing / tongue twister speech. After watching the movie I tried and tried to read this all out loud all at once but obviously failed. it blew my mind and I am absolutely in love with this scene.

If you have not yet seen this movie I highly recommend it and would rate a high, high 5!
